Taught by experienced practitioners, the program prepares you to pass the required Texas Education Agency principal exams. You will complete the program with a practicum under the supervision of a university professor and a field mentor so you can demonstrate key competencies.

Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Bilingual Education Online

This 33-credit-hour program is designed to give you an advantage in achieving curricular leadership roles in multicultural learning environments. It does not require applicants to be bilingual to enter.

The core curriculum emphasizes the practical application of current theory, research, assessment and coaching to improve learning. You will also gain an in-depth understanding of public school law, school administration and advanced problems in supervision.

Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in Reading Online

This program targets educators who want to be curriculum leaders in literacy instruction, or achieve Reading Specialist and/or Master Reading Teacher Certification. The 33-credit hour program is 100-percent online and can be completed in as few as 12 months. The coursework covers a variety of reading models with an emphasis on language and cognition, literacy development, comprehension, motivation, and current literacy trends. You will also learn about interventions for struggling readers through classroom-based field experiences.
