    For NURS 4313 students interview a nursing leader or nursing manager, and in NURS 4314 there's a change project.

  • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

    Stay organized, reach out to instructors with any questions/concerns, manage time wisely, and have online technical capabilities.

  • How can this degree help students prepare for the challenges of the field?

    This course provides an introduction to the theory and practice of nursing leadership and management which emphasizes the role of the nurse leader in professional nursing practice. Key concepts will include critical thinking, effective communication, ethical and legal issues, handling conflict, successful delegation, controlling resources, improving quality and safety, and leading change.

  • Why did you start teaching?

    During my nursing career, I had the opportunity to precept/mentor students. I enjoyed that teaching experience very much, so after obtaining my MSN I decided to teach nursing on a full-time basis. Sharing my professional knowledge and experience with nursing students provides me with a great feeling of accomplishment.

    "Profit First" by Mike Michalowicz

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know.

    I am an inventor and am currently writing a novel.
