My personal objective is for students to feel empowered with the concepts learned in class and go into the world and improve the nursing profession.

Degrees Held:

  • MSN – Jacksonville University, 2016
  • BSN – Texas A&M International University, 2005

Career Highlights:

I have practiced nursing for 15 years, beginning my nursing career as an NICU nurse. I grew into the role of charge nurse, neonatal PICC nurse and nurse preceptor. Years later I was given the opportunity to become a nurse educator coordinator and obtained my MSN in nursing education. I achieved the highlight of my career in 2018 when I was given the opportunity to become a clinical assistant professor of nursing at TAMIU.

Since then, I have become the supervisor for clinical education at a local hospital and continue to teach as an adjunct professor at the university. I have implemented outreach education services to out-of-hospital providers and surrounding areas, created different education courses, headed multiple committees, taught as a clinical instructor, lectured, and presented in Pathways research symposium.
