Career Highlights:
Co-Pi Noyce National Science Foundation grant for Mathematics. Dr. Gill directs the Texprep internship program and Noyce Mathematics conferences
Co-Pi Texas Regional Science Collaborative (Texas Regional Collaboratives) Grant. Dr. Gill helps facilitate and teach science professional development to teachers in the UISD and the LISD as a part of the TRC grant.
Dr. Gill has also taught science methods and math methods to pre-service teachers, and research areas include STEM education and socioscientific issues in science education.

What do you want students in your courses to learn? What are the learning outcomes or objectives?
Students will be able to examine relationships between education and society through diversity and social inequities in relation to bilingual education, race, class, gender, sex/sexuality and disability studies. They will also analyze curricular and instructional perspectives in relation to equal-educational opportunity. Students will also be able to apply conceptual understandings to curricular and instructional perspectives through the creation of a differentiated unit plan.

My advice to a student pursuing an online program is to stay organized, take advantage of online opportunities to communicate with your professor and other students in your classes, and to maximize your learning potential.
Why did you start teaching?
I began teaching to share my educational interests in zoology, biology and physical science. I have continued to pursue higher education degrees and advance my teaching abilities in multiple areas.
What qualities make someone particularly successful in the field in which you teach?
Critical thinking and the ability to analyze policy and practices that relate to curriculum development
What do you think is the biggest challenge that educators face today?
Adapting changing technology needs to curriculum issues and concerns

I worked at a women's resource center. I was the coordinator of the Young Women Leaders Program, a program for elementary girls to be mentored by young women who are college students.
