In which online degree program do you teach?

MBA in Management

  • Why did you start teaching?

I realized that is the only way to be a better person and a better professional.

  • What advice would you give to those considering this online program?

An MBA program is a long-time investment, not only on the monetary side, it requires time, sacrifice, discipline and responsibility. Sometimes students are not ready for this challenge.

  • How can this degree help students prepare for the challenges of the field?

The programs at TAMIU will allow you to see and learn the best practices, and you are going to learn from different industries. At the end, you will be able to see 3D case analysis, which requires knowing the theory, requires knowing what the problem is and the best solution.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

“The Art of the Japanese Management” by Richard T. Pascale

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students might not know about you.

I attended to the School of Philosophy for a B.A. in Philosophy and Mathematics. After three years, I then switched to a business area, major in accounting, because I had the fear that no one wanted to hire a professional that only knows about philosophy and some math, and nothing else. I’ve never disclosed these three years training in philosophy in my resume. After my degree in accounting and two graduate programs, I earned later my Ph.D. in Philosophy. Ergo, no one knows where you are going to end.

  • What is the value of this degree?

You are going to learn why companies are successful and why firms fail.

  • What types of projects and work do you typically assign for these courses?

Practical real cases from public firms using SEC10K and exams.
