Career Highlights:
My career in nursing includes 20 years at the bedside in critical care, emergency and cardiovascular care. I enjoyed the role in critical care and served as a Board member for AACN (American Association of Critical Care Nurses). My career evolved to serve in nursing management, administrative roles and then to education. Education offers the opportunity to grow others, both at the facility and as faculty in online instruction. Another role is the Magnet Program Director. This encompasses clinical excellence responsibilities that integrate process improvement, shared leadership and strategic planning for nursing to improve clinical outcomes and economic efficiencies across the organization.

While the courses are often skills, statistics and finance, it is the application of the knowledge that is most important to your career.
Why did you start teaching?
I was blessed with many levels of learning throughout my career, and teaching allowed me to pay it forward. I find that teaching also keeps me current and looking forward to tomorrow.

This degree opens doors to help you think beyond “what is” to "what can be!" Nursing is a forever career.
