In which online degree program do you teach?

  • Which classes do you teach online?

NURN 3313: Transition to Professional Nursing, Didactic

  • Why did you start teaching?

Ever since I came to Laredo in 2008, the community has always been welcoming, warm and generous to me. In fact, staying in Laredo opened various opportunities for growth and professional development to me. I was able to obtain my master's degree in nursing with the help of scholarships coming from the community. I decided to start teaching since I felt like it is a good opportunity for me to give back the community's kindness and generosity by serving and helping shape some of Laredo's best professional nurses who will become instruments in providing the high quality, safe and patient-centered care that Laredoans deserve.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

"The 7 habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change" by Stephen R. Covey

  • Tell us something interesting about yourself that your students may not know.

No one knows my favorite proverb verse: "Boast not thyself of tomorrow, for thou knows not what day may bring forth". This verse keeps me grounded and reminds me that everything in this world is temporary, and that I can lose everything in a blink of an eye. Therefore, I always want to be humble and help as much people as I can before I lose the opportunity to do it.
